Traditional Cosy Murder Mystery

In the gentle hamlet of St. Ives, killers roam free....

An advertisement in the local newspaper draws seven people, including Avery Holmes, to the home of Elliot Marks with the purpose of forming a murder mystery book club. But they soon discover they have a taste and a talent for solving puzzling, unsolved murders.

Meet the St. Ives Book Club:

Hector Mandela - a retired naval captain from Nova Scotia and newcomer to St. Ives. He’s a fish out of water trying to keep up with a socially active wife and worried what will happen if he can’t.

Josephine Gaskell - a native of St. Ives and retired nurse who fills her days with committee work to avoid wondering why her children don’t call.

Dennis and Helen Potter - long time residents, a recently retired train conductor and stay-at-home mom who is facing an empty nest and a marriage that is going nowhere.

Avery Holmes - a newcomer to St. Ives who sold up her farm in Quebec to begin a new life as an author. The trouble is she hasn’t written a word and if she doesn’t make money soon, her nest egg will be gone.

Elliot Marks - the mystery man who bought the old Abercrombie place and caused a stir when he placed an advertisement for murder. The eccentric founder of the St. Ives Book Club demonstrates an uncanny ability to solve unsolvable crimes, leading the club to suspect there is more to Marks than he lets on.

Solomon Brice - the young cub reporter at The Haldimand Herald whose ambitions in journalism are at odds with his patrician mother’s plans for her only son.

Pearl Hansen - the fresh faced intern at the Herald whose determination to go after a story puts her in the path of a killer.
